  Your Favorite Colloquialisms?

  thought we could all share a few of our favorites...here's one i'm fond of....

  "chaps my grits" is a southern colloquialism, referring.

  to.....well, i guess you better know what grits is.

  LOL@Yeru! When something to eat is REALLY good, we say "It'll make ya wanna slap yer mama!"

  I kinda like "he's really shot-in-the-head". When I asked for an explanation, ...nah, this is a family board. :)

  LOL@COMF! I figured it out just before I got to the part where he put the question to his readers....GOOD one!

  LOL@Little Witch! I hadn't heard some of those....that "toad strangler" had me cackling.....I think the "pee-dawber" must refer to shiny bubbles like the ones in a......um.....chamber pot....when ya take a leak.....spose someone took a leak in a mudhole somewhere and decided to use the shiny bubbles created for their comparative value...

  Ah, What a tangled web we weave...

  ...when first we practice to decieve.. the semester just started again for me, and i'm using my computer lab access to write this, because i feel like venting.

  ... and so i will vent.

  so i worked with my jw ex best friend (mind you, i said jw ex best friend, not ex jw best friend) and she and i were blissfully ignoring eachother (at least i was blissfully ignoring her) when all of a sudden she starts talking to me again... which, to my surprise, was shocking.

  What is The Zaniest Thing You've Ever Done?

  my most zany thing was back in 1970 when i lived in maryland....i was working for the pr.

  geo.

  and also had a part time job in the evening working for giant food in their payroll/personnel dept.....one evening, my boss at giant food in hyattsville, phoned me and told me that a coworker of his was going to come down to the office and that if i would provide him with transportation to where they were meeting, i could have the rest of the evening off and he would write in my time as though i'd worked the whole evening as usual....great!

  I loved him, Frannie. Still do, in a way. With me, once I truly love, it never dies.

  Beryl, in cases of the heart, it would be nice if we'd been created with a built-in "alarm system" that would tell us if our love was "requited", wudnit? It would save a lot of hearts from being broken.

  What is The Zaniest Thing You've Ever Done?

  my most zany thing was back in 1970 when i lived in maryland....i was working for the pr.

  On a dare, I ran thru a coed dorm sans a bra....

  TRES HAPPY! LOL! You DIDN'T!!!

  His brother and I re-aquired his car out of the Police impound. We drove right in like we owned the place, his brother had the spare key to the LTD. and I followed him out of impound in the pickup.

  I grabbed a .32 and off we went!

  I turned and held two young guys up against the wall with the machine gun.

  I could go on and tell you about my leg getting in front of a bullet

  Maverick, you are one tough hombre, dude!! Do you still "live on the edge" like this?..lol

  I went out into the back garden where I had never step foot before and also in pitch black and promptly fell over a cliff! I heard the crack as my leg snapped near to the ankle,

  When an ambulance did finally arrive, 3 paramedics came in, took one look at me and dissappered INTO THE PARTY! Well it wasn't until after I came out of hospital two weeks later I found out why; it was a halloween party and I was wearing ripped shirt and jeans, fake cuts and scratches to my skin and protruding guts and was covered head to toe with fake blood. Apparently they hadn't laughed so much in years and hadn't wanted to do so in front of they're slighly shaken patient.

  awwwww, Ballistic...that's not funny....(mmph).....(snicker).......(snicker, snort)..... .....okay....(guffaws)...it IS funny.......but probably hurt a LOT when it happened.

  as we entered a door of the administration building we did not head to the elevator to take us up the eight floors to the main administration floor.

  i looked around the room and asked, "what's up with her?

  i was going to work with the elder from hell who ran the photography department.

  Just Get Over It?

  in the last couple of days ive been reading info on the un & wts ...so have been pretty absorbed with the amount of info out there on the wts...

  anyway...it hasnt been that long since i left the wts...and a close friend of mine (never a witness) said to me ,twice now, and rather strongly again today...

  "its over, you have left, get over it...your obsessed with this, who cares, just get over it before it drives you mad...its really pathetic"

  Baptism 1973 and 1985 Questions hmmmmmmmmmm!

  i was doing some research and noticed that the baptism questions were changed several times over the years.

  the questions in 1973 were as follows: *** w73 5/1 280 baptizing follows discipling *** if you feel the same about serving jehovah god and taking christs yoke upon you, we suggest that you consider the following two questions, which are asked of candidates for baptism:.

  (1) have you repented of your sins and turned around, recognizing yourself before jehovah god as a condemned sinner who needs salvation, and have you acknowledged to him that this salvation proceeds from him, the father, through his son jesus christ?

  My, oh my, oh my, Beans....this is EXACTLY the reason why the borg's disf-ing me was majorly wrong....they had no right to accuse me of apostasy for writing that letter to the Gov. Potty condemning them for their badness.....because my allegiance was sworn to under the terms of the questions in 1973....and not to a group of men....

  I got lucky, and beaned a woman right in the top of her head with my cheesecake. We then wished the two elderly ladies a nice day, and went to the cash to pay our bills, just in time to see my cheesecake victim's boyfriend complaining to the manager about what happened. He took a look at us, and decided not to start any trouble. We had so much fun that we decided to go back and do it again a few months later, but you know how it is - the first time is always the best.

  WALTER!!! You bad, baaaad boy....

  I was sitting on the window, leaning out. We were doing approximately 50 miles an hour at the time.

  (gasps) HAPPYOUT!!! SCAAAA-rey!!

  Published an underground newspaper here at work ridiculing the administration and every convention I could think of.

  Yeru, didja get caught?

  Renewed my marraige vows with my wife in a restraunt as a suprise for our anniversary...(and had a minister show up for it...a big wedding cake...white roses...and a diamond ring.)

  How romantic!!!

  My buddy took a saturday and completely emptied out my cublice. Pictures...files...computer...EVERYTHING except my chair...upon which he left a help wanted sign...it was awesome...the worst part was he beat me to it...I had planned on doing the same thing to him...but decided to wait until he went on leave.
